Charity Kadow joined the Bartlett Club organization in 1972, serving often in program projects. 

As an advocate for civic duty, she was a 1977 founding member of Spenard Community Council, later serving as Chair. She joined the Legislative Affairs Agency in 1974 serving as legislative historian, later appointed first Director of the Legislative Information Office network. She introduced the first teleconference system to the state and the nation.  Appointed by Gov. Steve Cowper in 1986 to serve as Director of his Anchorage - South Central Alaska office. Duties included monitoring the Valdez Oil Spill, and liaison with constituents dealing with government agencies. Kadow is owner of Hidden Hill Enterprises located in Anchorage and Talkeetna.
